Job Description:
An assistant merchandiser responsibilities include:
- Analyzing sales: Reviewing sales data and suggesting actions like ordering more stock, marking down prices, or putting items on sale
- Managing stock: Monitoring stock levels and movements, and reporting on stock releases, returns, and new arrivals
- Developing strategies: Creating pricing and merchandising strategies to meet sales targets
- Communicating: Working with buyers, suppliers, stores, and distributors
- Providing reports: Generating reports on sales, profits, and new merchandising concepts
- Managing invoices and shipments: Processing and tracking invoices and shipments
- Managing the merchandise admin assistant: Ensuring that the merchandise admin assistant's job is completed correctly
- Attending meetings: Reviewing the previous week's sales and best and worst sellers at merchandising and trading meetings
